Shahid Afridi is a Pakistani professional cricketer and former captain of the Pakistan national cricket team. He also holds a record of taking most wickets (97) and most players of the match award in twenty 20 international cricket. Shahid Afridi is known for his aggressive batting style and previously held the record for the fastest ODI century in 37 deliveries. He also holds the distinction of having hit the most number of sixes in the history of ODI cricket. Shahid Afridi considers himself a better bowler than batsman and has taken 48 test wickets and over 350 in ODI. Currently, Afridi is leading the chart of most T20 wickets with 92 wickets from 92 matches.
Shahid Afridi got great success in few years due to his great performance. On 25 may 2010 Afridi was appointed the captain of the national team in all three formats after he announced his return to the test cricket. In July 2010 Shahid Afridi captained Pakistan in the first test of the series at Lords against Australia. Afridi scored 31 off 15 deliveries in the first innings and 2 in the second but was dismissed succumbing to rash strokes in both the innings.
He is the most faster batsman in Pakistan cricket team. People called him boom boom Afridi. in march 2016 Pakistan was unable to make it to the semifinals in the  2016 ICC WORLD Twenty20 after losing to new Zealand, India and Australia. Before Australia’s match, the PCB hinted at Afridi retirement. However, Afridi went against their decision after the match and announced that he would make the decision himself after consultation family and other iconic players beforehand and also stated that as a player.
In 2016 he is finally announced he was stepping down as T20 captain but was not retiring. Afridi said the people that  he wanted to continue to play the game for my country.
